Assessment of Knowledge,Attitude & practices(KAP) Regarding Diabetic Retinopathy Among Diabetes

Purpose- To assess the knowledge,attitude & practices regarding diabetic retinopathy among diabetes.Methods-This hospital-based cross-sectional study conducted in Diabetic clinic & Eye OPD of M.Y Hospital Indore.total 557 diagnosed diabetics aged ≥18 years enrolled.pre-tested, semi-structured questionnaire assessing socio-demographic details, clinical profile, and KAP about DR. KAP will be graded using a predefined scoring system. Data will be analyzed using Chi-square test and odds ratio, with p ≤0.05 considered statistically significant.Results - Among 557 diabetics,154(27.64%) had good knowledge about DR,160(28.72%) had Average knowledge & 243(43.62%) had poor knowledge.Positive attitude was in 469(84.20%) diabetics whereas 88(15.79%) have Negative Attitude.Conclusion - There is a significant gap between knowledge and practice among diabetics regarding DR. Targeted health education and accessible screening programs are needed to bridge this gap.
