The SFIOL Toolkit - 'X-NIT, CMT flex and Sutured fixation'

Purpose: This surgical video presents a structured and practical guide to scleral fixation of intraocular lenses (SFIOL) in aphakic eyes and eyes with inadequate capsular support. 
Methods: The presentation is divided into three parts: (1) sutureless scleral fixation of a three-piece IOL using the X-NIT technique, (2) implantation of a sutureless CMT Flex IOL, and (3) sutured scleral fixation of a single-piece IOL. Each segment demonstrates step-by-step surgical technique with emphasis on critical nuances, intraoperative decision-making, and avoidance of common pitfalls. Key tips and tricks for optimal haptic externalization, centration, wound construction, and complication management are highlighted.
